Philosophy of Sound - Freedom, what for?
Philosophy Of Sound is the musical brainchild of two Melbourne based producers - Martin K and John Salmon. Martin is a philosopher turned music producer originally hailing from Poland, who after spending some time in his other project Koshowko has decided to start a ’beyond-disco’ side project. John has an international background as a DJ and producer.
In late 2011 Philosophy of Sound released the single ‘It Is Like That’ on Discotexas, featuring a remix by Ilya Santana (Eskimo Records) alongside the original version. The single accompanied by an exciting video clip has become a staff pick on Beatport and immediately debuted on various charts. Tracks from the single have also appeared on various mixtapes by the likes of Mustang, Tronik Youth or Mighty Mouse and the DJ community’s feedback from the likes of The Magician, Social Disco Club or Tiago has been nothing but positive.
A recent Philosophy of Sound production can also be heard on ‘Discotexas' Bucket of Love Vol. 2’ compilation with the remix of one of the biggest club hits of 2011 - ‘Cairo’ by the Polish marvels Kamp!
"Freedom, What For?" is the second single from Philosophy of Sound which delivers not only food for the feet but also for thought, raising the bar in conscious dance music lyrics. Features remixes from Tronik Youth and A.N.D.Y. (new project from Andy Faisca, ex-Mustang).
