2017 is an important year. It’s been ten years since Discotexas was formed by Moullinex and Xinobi. It may sound surprising now but the reality is that none of us could image that 10 years later Discotexas would still be running, let alone everything that’s been achieved. It all started is a very simple way in 2007. Both Moullinex and Xinobi, felt the need to get their music released and heard, so in good old DIY way, they just started Discotexas. They had to. A decade went by. It’s been a rollercoaster of achievements and disappointments but most importantly we managed to get both our music and that of others released and heard and played and enjoyed. That’s the beauty of doing Discotexas. We can’t find a better way to celebrate a decade of Discotexas than putting out a very special record. “10cotexas” is a compilation that captures our history and our eternal passion for music. It’s a memorable gathering of artists and some of their most important tracks. But it is also the perfect excuse to present some exclusive originals and a few unreleased rarities. We’re proud of it. It contains iconic originals and remixes by Moullinex, Xinobi, Da Chick, Kamp!, Rebeka, Mirror People or Psychemagik alongside a "hidden-for-ages-treasure" by Double Damage and the first original track by the Discotexas Band, an in-house band compromising Moullinex, Xinobi and Da Chick.

“Love Love Love”, the sunshine-infused call to arms by Moullinex gets remix treatments from Larse, Switchdance and Les Loups.

From Larse we can expect the finest and honest deep house punctuated by an hypnotic bassline. This remix is a lesson in elegance, combining a tight groove with an earth-shaking bassline, climaxing in an euphoria-inducing breakdown.

The new Innervisions star and Lux Lisbon resident DJ, Switchdance, takes “Love Love Love” on a dark and spiritual journey. Where the original has the sun, this remix has the moon, and those flutes are guaranteed to extract howls even from the most blasé audiences.

Les Loups stay on the sunny side of life and skilfully place the original’s elements in the irresistible intersection of House and Jazz. Groove is king.

Mr Tea, also known to the IRS as Michael Devin, has a long and storied production history, with releases on Higher State Records, Hard Hands & Concrete, and collaborations with Cream and Sabres of Paradise. He draws his influences from the explosive dance music melange of the early 90's that included Acid, House, Techno and even Hardcore.

‘Soul Suckle’ kick-starts the party with two glorious funk groovers, the title track and ‘Momentum’, goes into deeper territories on ‘Vanishing Point’, a nod to S’Express, to close the EP with a party in the desert, ‘Ashram’s Groove’. Epic.

“Soul Suckle” is the first of the new label artwork series designed by Mariano Pascual.

Moullinex delivers an incredible mesh of melodies in his latest release "Love Love Love". Opening with euphoric chirping of birds and enchanting bursts of the flute, only to quickly evolve into a groovy and expressive jam.

As Moullinex celebrates the highs of love, he reminds us that love is innate to who we are as beings and should be something we offer and prepare ourselves to receive. A positive offering in a world that thrives off of negativity, we return to the simple things that truly matter.

Praising the simplicities of affection in hope of creating a better and more joyous universe, Moullinex sets the tone for the season.
