Throes + The Shine embody both adventure and vitality. They use every ounce of their creativity to build something unique that boils down to an infectious live energy. Hailing from both Porto and Luanda, they are grounded between a fusion that started with kuduro and rock and that now spans genres and influences that are spread out through a multitude of cultures that can go from Africa to Europe or from South America to the States. After releasing two records and creating a regular presence with hundreds of shows through Europe (with stops in such landmarks as Roskilde, Lowlands, Rock En Seine, NOS Alive or Paléo Festival) they want to change and challenge their sound yet again. They’re new album is called Wanga, a word that translates as spell in kimbundo, the language spoken by the Angolan elders. And that’s what each song represents in this third record. Spells to make you move, to make you feel joy, communion, empowerment and to allow experiences that are both new to the fans and to the band itself. It’s also the first time they allow and outside producer (Moullinex) to delve deeply within the creative process with the band as well as the first work that will have collaborations with other bands and musicians from three different continents - a testament to their open mindedness and will to challenge their own perceptions of what is possible to achieve within the project. This makes the collectives third record a breath of fresh air and and unexpected journey through many different genres and cultures with their distinct sound stamp that just makes it impossible not to move. Its release is due on the 20th of May through Discotexas (Universal/!K7).
“Chick To Chick” is the debut album of Lisbon artist Teresa Sousa. She gathered her friends Moullinex, Xinobi, Cut Slack and Isac Ace to compose, produce and record 11 tracks. The result is a fresh and soulful record, painted with the most refined elements of Funk, Disco and Hip Hop. “Chick to Chick” is simultaneously sunny and dark - It goes from a summery sound to some absolutely beautiful moments of introspection. You might recall names such as Betty Davis, Minnie Ripperton, Chic or even The Fugees. It includes the brand new single “Do The Clap” but also the memorable gems “Cocktail” and “Lotta Love”.
'Elsewhere' is the second studio album by Moullinex, and it's released today, May 18th, on Discotexas, with worldwide distribution by !K7 and UMP.
Moullinex a.k.a Luis Clara Gomes aims to be - and succeeds at it – much more than a mere machine designed to make people dance. Not that he’s not good at getting crowds to move their bodies, it’s just that he navigates through various genres and contexts equally well, be it the dance floor, the sofa or the street. His second full-length album, 'Elsewhere' is a perfect example of this fusion.
The influences of soul, funk, garage-rock, Brazilian music and psychedelic sounds blend together with bursting synths and futuristic dance music, coexisting in perfect harmony with under Moullinex's defining stamp.
Having remixed for the likes of Sébastien Tellier, Röyksopp & Robyn, Cut Copy or Two Door Cinema Club, Moullinex has earned himself a solid reputation as a DJ and producer in the dance and disco world and is now set to take centre stage with the release of his second solo album.

‘1975’ is special. It’s packed full of sonically-rich, epic productions that sound big, but not bombastic or over-baked. They take in elements of dub, surf guitar, deep house, disco and acid, all delivered with a pop sensibility and individual flare that sets it apart from other, more generic dance music long players. During 54 minutes, the album roves from contemplative moments, deep dance floor dynamics to memorable choruses, adorned with a colourful and joyous array of sounds that are beautifully produced.
Spicing up 'French touch' electro/house with his own brand of German flavorings, Justin Faust is riding a wave of praise on the blog circuit as well as a string of successful live gigs in the US and Europe. Faust has been stirring up the nu-disco/house scene for the past few years and now its time for his debut album, 'Spellbound'.
